I added an RSS Widget to my lab which I have developed as part of some work I'm doing for my current employer. The purpose of the 'application' is to provide content which may be of interest to visitors to the company's website.

Producing content internally would be time consuming. Also linking to external content has the advantage of encouraging visitors to click through to the content providers website. In this case that would be a good thing as the target visitors are learners. Visiting these websites would help them with their learning.
